#LitterHeroes Ambassador Programme

#LitterHeroes Ambassadors go above and beyond to support their community to engage in litter-picking activities. They advocate for other environmental activities and are proactive in promoting and taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s campaigns. 

Since 2018, the #LitterHeroes programme has been supporting the most dedicated litter-picking volunteers across England. We now have a network of almost 200 #LitterHeroes Ambassadors, who go above and beyond as inspirational leaders within their communities.  Our Ambassadors are passionate about taking action, have an infectious enthusiasm and individually and collectively are making a huge impact.

We are very pleased to announce that after four years, recruitment to join the #LitterHeroes Ambassador programme is now open!

We are looking for exceptional group leaders, already running volunteer groups and hosting regular litter-picking events within their local communities.

By becoming a #LitterHeroes Ambassador, we hope to support and enhance your current litter-picking activity through personalized support from the #LitterHeroes team at Keep Britain Tidy.

You will gain access to exclusive resources, guidance and training, plus the opportunity to connect with and learn from 200 fellow Ambassadors. Plus benefit from the increased opportunities of being part of the Keep Britain Tidy community.

Your role as an Ambassador

As a #LitterHeroes Ambassador you will be passionate about eradicating litter and will work within your local community to support the litter picking activities of others. You will lead an existing group, which hosts regular events throughout the year. Your group might undertake other environmental activities alongside litter picking too.

To support Keep Britain Tidy, you will promote and take part in our campaigns, such as the Great British Spring Clean. You will encourage new volunteers to connect with Keep Britain Tidy and register as #LitterHeroes.

You will also record your individual and group litter-picking data, via Collect & Count, to help us build a national picture of the scale and impact of litter picking volunteering and the litter problem.
